1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We also use related technologies including localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, service workers and web push subscriptions. In this Policy we refer to all of these as "cookies and similar technologies".
2. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required to sign you in, keep your session secure, remember your selected business or site, route requests, and protect against fraud and abuse. These cannot be turned off without breaking the platform.
- Functional — remember preferences such as theme, sidebar state, default filters on the receipts page, and your most-recent charger.
- Performance & analytics — measure aggregated, de-identified usage (page views, feature adoption, error rates) so we can improve the platform. We do not sell this data.
- Push notifications — when you opt in, a web push subscription is stored so we can notify you when a charger you follow becomes available, or about important account events. You can disable this at any time from your profile or in your browser settings.
- Map tiles — our map (MapLibre + OpenFreeMap) loads vector tiles from a third-party tile host. Your IP address is necessarily disclosed to that host in order to deliver the tiles.
- Payments — Stripe sets cookies on its checkout and billing portal pages for fraud prevention and to deliver the payment flow. These are set by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
3. Third parties that may set cookies
- Stripe — payments, billing portal, fraud detection. stripe.com/au/privacy
- Supabase / Lovable Cloud — authentication session and realtime connections.
- OpenFreeMap — map tiles for charger and site maps.
- Email delivery provider — transactional emails (receipts, alerts) may include tracking pixels we can disable on request.
We do not currently use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
4. Your choices
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using the platform.
- Push notifications: manage from Profile → Notifications in the app, or revoke permission in your browser or device settings.
- Email alerts: every marketing or alert email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribe requests as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Transactional emails (receipts, security notices) cannot be unsubscribed while you hold an account.
- Do Not Track: we currently treat all users the same regardless of the browser DNT signal; we do not run cross-site advertising trackers.
5. How long cookies last
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Authentication tokens typically persist for the duration of the signed-in session as configured by our auth provider.
- Preference cookies persist for up to 12 months unless cleared.
- Push subscriptions persist until you unsubscribe, change browsers, or our cleanup job removes inactive endpoints (default 60 days inactive).
6. Children
The platform is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through cookies or otherwise.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as our use of cookies changes. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email.
